Neighborhood boat parade

I recently moved into a condo with one of my best buds ever. Overlooking Bristol Cove off Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad, we landed a pretty nice little spot with our own boat slip. Here's the thing - we moved from downtown San Diego to Carlsbad for work and, needless to say, we missed our endless options for food, drinks and just down right social fun! However, this new little pad of ours really shinned last weekend when the neighborhood lite up for their annual Christmas Boat Parade. Driving down the street you would have no idea this was happening just on the other side of these seemingly boring homes. The decorations had been building for weeks, but when I came home from work I instantly started giggling like a little school girl at the sight - it was ridiculous! I live here!

I may not have restaurants I can walk to anymore, but I like this little cove and now that the holiday celebration is over I am anxiously awaiting for the return of summer.

Summer Vacation

My mini took it's first roadtrip! 

1. My much needed vacation kicked off with a trip up the coast to Big Sur where I met up with sister Susie and Jared at the KirkCreek campsite.

2. Family Fun Day! We headed south to meet the gang in Morro Bay. Many may cringe at the thought of 2 days with their family, but for some reason we seem to enjoy it. This group is ridiculous! We rented a compound of 3 cottages that fit the entire bunch very nicely. The weekend was filled with a wine tasting tour, nightly BBQs, kite flying, and lots of laughs around the fire pit.

Miss Molly Bender

I finally got back behind the camera and it was amazing! My former co-worker Molly Bender is a fantastic photographer and needed some photos of herself for an upcoming website. We headed over to Balboa Park and snapped away. I must say I was a little nervous to shoot again, I did not give the best direction, but Molly was super and in the end we got some amazing pics.

Just for fun, my Sister and Jared came down yesterday to take some pictures! I want to take more pictures and they were down to model....it was PERFECT! We went up to Yorba Linda and explored some of the fire damaged areas; the burnt trees, new growth and stormy skies, provided a spectacular scene. Here is one of my favorites!
